VA's Quality Enhancement Research Initiative (QUERI) is a national program devoted to rapid implementation of effective practices using implementation and quality improvement (QI) methods. QUERI partners with more than 25 Program Offices across VA to provide implementation and evaluation support on key VA priorities, including opioid safety, suicide prevention, access to care, patient safety, MISSION Act implementation, and electronic health record modernization.

  • Identify and implement an evidence-based practice to address a care gap
  • Optimize the rollout of a national initiative
  • Evaluate the impact of a program or policy
  • Engage frontline staff in quality improvement efforts
