QUERI Increases Presence at Dissemination and Implementation National Conference

More than 20 QUERI investigators presented their work at the 15th Annual AcademyHealth Conference on the Science of Dissemination and Implementation (D&I) in Health (Re)Building Better Systems: Being Proactive, Nimble, and Responsive, which was held December 11-14, 2022 in Washington, DC. The D&I Conference, convening in person for the first time in two years, brought together investigators on the frontlines of dissemination and implementation science to help ensure that evidence is used to inform decisions that will improve the health of both individuals and communities.

HSR&D/QUERI leadership also hosted a meeting open to VA and non-VA early-career investigators to discuss dissemination and implementation science priorities, key initiatives, and emerging opportunities. Organized by QUERI’s Center for Evaluation and Implementation Resources (CEIR), this Technical Assistance Workshop for early career investigators and staff included panel discussions on funding opportunities across key research funding organizations (e.g., National Institutes of Health (NIH), Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), current trends in implementation research, and practical advice on early career strategic decision-making from established implementation researchers.

HSR&D/QUERI investigators presented findings on many topics important to effectively disseminating research findings and implementing evidence-based interventions, such as: the cost to implement an evidence-based program; implementing innovative behavioral health programs to improve care for special populations; and social needs and social determinants of health. Presenters included:
