Dr. Kilbourne Named New Executive Director of Health Systems Research

Amy Kilbourne, PhD, MPH, Executive Director of HSR

Congratulations to Amy Kilbourne, PhD, MPH, who was announced as the new Executive Director of Health Systems Research (HSR)! In this role, Dr. Kilbourne leads VA’s national HSR portfolio, overseeing more than $127 million in intramural scientific funding that involves more than 850 funded investigators who conduct more than 435 ongoing research projects aimed at improving the health and care of our nation’s Veterans. As Executive Director, Dr. Kilbourne also supports QUERI, with the goal of accelerating translation of research evidence into real-world practice, and, through the VHA Evidence-based Policy Subcommittee, she helps VA fulfill the Foundations for Evidence-based Policymaking Act, facilitating more than 100 evidence and evaluation initiatives to ensure that programs and policies work for Veterans.
